Good works DO NOT make you acceptable to God for Salvation

Works are ordained by God for us to do and they are, if initiated by the holy Spirit, fruit unto God that brings him glory and honor.

However, Good works DO NOT make you acceptable to God for salvation. Nor do good works justify you in any way before a righteous and holy God. If you cannot use good works to save you then why would good works be acceptable to keep you saved….GOD WORKS are only acceptable as a fruit of the holy Spirit produced in a Christian by Gods soverign grace, mercy, and perfect will!

Adding works to your salvation exempts you from grace because in effect what you are saying is that your works are as good as the blood of Jesus. They are not! Does a Christain perform good works…YES! AS A BY PRODUCT OF OUR FAITH BUT NOT TO CONSTITUTE FAITH!

Do you see the difference? This is why Paul was upset with the Galatians. By adding circumcision they were saying that the blood was not enough. Paul told them…”Hey guys this is not the gospel that was delivered to you but ANOTHER GOSPEL!”

Adding works is the same spirit as adding circumscision. Let me show you why that is.

Circumcision had nothing to do with Isreal’s acceptance by God.
Abraham was already accepted by God before God asked him to be circumcised. God wanted the people to have a physical reminder of His promise to make of them a Great nation.

So circumsion was based on a promise or a covenant between two people. God and Abraham. Abraham was to accept God and surrender his life to God. God kept his part of the contract which is what a covenant is, but Isreal kept breaking it. Since the law was made to point us to Christ, we can see that Isreal’s failure to keep the law reveals how easy man can turn away from God’s written law. THIS IS BECAUSE MAN IS BORN INTO SIN! HE HAS A SIN NATURE!

God wants to show us that Isreal could not keep the law so what makes us think that we can keep the law?

God then makes a New Covenant by the blood of Jesus. Since man cannot keep Gods laws in his own power and strength Jesus had to take away the power of sin that made us break Gods laws in the first place! The New Testament is that new agreement. Based on what principal????….THE LAW OF FAITH!!!!!

Let me simplify this principal of faith for you …..

God has sent Jesus to die and take my place, therefore I believe…I believe and therefore I recieve….I recieve and therefore I am given GOD’S POWER to become GOD’S CHILD. I am God’s child and therefore I produce fruit unto God BY HIS POWER THAT DWELLS IN ME,and therefore I AM KEPT by the power of God unto salvation ready to be revealed on that Day!

Hebrews 8:1-16

But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of  A BETTER COVENANT which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make  A NEW COVENANT with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.”

As Christians we do not need to go back to the law. If we are born again we have been given a new heart…or rather a regenerated spirit which is translated heart but really means spirit as they are interchangeable in scripture.

The new regenerated spirit of man is PERFECT with no sin!!! Our body is dead because of sin but our spirit man is the new creature and so therefore is right with God in every way. Our bodies are not yet redeemed and so subject to sin.The holy Spirit helps us to keep the body under. One day that old body will be destroyed and we will be given a new body. Mean time we are not under the dominion of sin which is in the body which by the way is also the brain! We are to be renewed in the spirit of our minds! God will help you by HIS SPIRIT to mortify or keep under the body of flesh as we YEILD…GIVE THE RIGHT OF WAY
( which means to surrender from self initiated works and yeild to God inspired works) to him and let him do it! He is able to SAVE TO THE UTTERMOST ALL WHO COME TO HIM.

Circumsicion is now of the heart! Under the New Covenant…heart remember is spirit! You are a spirit being that possesses a soul and lives in a body! Your spirit is born again unto God…brand new! Filled with God’s Holy Spirit , if you are really saved. Many claim to be saved but alas they are not. Many have a religious ideology about Christianty and think that they are saved through works and adherance to OT laws but they have not EXPERIENCED the power of God. They have not entered into grace by faith in Christ. Rather they are under the law and still dead in tresspasses and sins. Salvation is of the Lord and the Spirit falls whethersoever HE DESIRES(John 1)

Deut.30:6

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Colossions 2:8-17

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ

Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ.

In conclusion brethren, we are not in debt to keep the law. Nor are we subject to the rudiments of this world. WE ARE NEW CREATURES IN CHRIST! FILLED WITH THE SAME SPIRIT THAT RAISED JESUS
CHRIST FROM THE DEAD.

If you do not have the Holy Spirit of course you will feel compelled to keep the law because you know you are a sinner and God requires you to be righteous! We who have the first fruits of the Spirit know that we have eternal life. We are assured of our salvation. If you are not sure, please examine yourself today. Are you really in the faith?…Do you know that you know that you know, you are saved and going to heaven to be with the lord?…..If not, lay down your burden of sin…for it truly is a burden! You cannot keep God’s law. Grace will keep you. Ask Jesus to save you from your sins and make you a new creature in Christ today!

JESUS CAME TO DEFEAT THE POWER OF SIN

Therefore,He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25

The word SAVED means to be delivered from any kind of evil but when  SAVED is used in regard to God’s salvation it’s true meaning is deliverance and preservation from all the consequences of sin. In this sense SAVED means to be delivered and preserved from the penalty of sin and the power of sin.

The angel of the Lord told Joseph, “…And you shall call His name JESUS: for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21) Notice the  word is SINS.(plural) Jesus not only saves from the penalty of SIN but He saves us from the particular SINS that hold us in their bondage. Jesus said, “… whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.” John 8:34

Jesus went on to say, “Therefore If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:36. When Jesus saves, He breaks the power of sin, Satan, and demons. The saved sinner now has the power to say “no” to the things they should not do and “yes” to the things they should. Jesus saves from the power of sin.

Psalms 110:4 “The LORD hath sworn, and will not relent, You are a priest forever according the order of Melchizadek.” As the Great High Priest Jesus is able to save lost souls from the curse of the law and bring them into the family of God.

Hebrews speaks of this priestly sacrifice: “…when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” In Hebrews 2:9 we read the reason for His coming: “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that He by the grace of God might taste death for everyone.” Peter referred to this sacrifice in I Peter 2:24 when he wrote, “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree” And again, “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God…” I Peter 3:18.

Who was delivered up because of our offences, and was raised because of our justification.” Romans 4:25. (See also 1st Corinthians 15:l7)
When Jesus offered Himself as a sacrifice for our sin His body was laid in a grave. When He came forth the third day this was the divine authentication that God the Father had accepted His sacrifice. Each one of us can be sure that Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for our sin has satisfied the Father.

Jesus Is The Intercessor Between God and Man

“…Since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:35

Intercession means: “Who is he who condemns? It is Christ Who died, and furthermore is also risen, Who is even at the right hand of God, Who also makes intercession for us.” Romans 8:34

“My little children, these things I write to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous: and He Himself is the propitiation (sacrifice) for our sins…” 1st John 2: 1,:2a.

“…the accuser of our brethren, who accuses them before our God day and night have been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony and they did not love their lives to the death.” Revelation 12:10b, 11.

“Who gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”—Galatians 1:4,-5.

(Col 1:12-14) Giving thanks unto the Father, which HAS MADE us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who HAS delivered us from the power of darkness, and HAS translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we HAVE redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

How do you recieve deliverance from sin? BY FAITH AND NOT THE WORKS OF THE LAW!

Jesus came to set us free from sin today, tommorrow and every day! JESUS IS THE KEEPER OF YOUR SOUL! He has promised and is faithful to keep his promise!

If we are baptized into Christ WE HAVE put on Christ. So now we are in the Spirit and in newness of life!

We ARE CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST…..RECKON YOURSELVES DEAD WITH HIM! DEAD TO SIN BUT ALIVE TO GOD! HOW??? by faith! IT IS A DONE DEAL. WALK IN IT! YEILD MEANS TO SURRENDER, GIVE UP STRIVING, GIVE UP SELF EFFORT, GIVE UP WORKS, AND LET GO AND LET GOD BE YOUR SAVIOUR FROM SIN!

PRAY GOD’S WORD, AND LIVE GOD’S WORD! THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, WILL KEEP YOU AND PERSERVE YOU UNTO HIS HEAVENLY KINGDOM.

YOU ARE NO LONGER A SERVANT OF SIN BUT A SERVANT OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

ROMANS 6 …NO LAW KEEPING….JUST GRACE.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

FOR HE THAT IS DEAD IS FREE FROM SIN!!! Sin no longer has dominion(rule) over us !

“Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

FOR SIN SHALL NOT HAVE DOMINION OVER YOU: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Jesus Christ is our Righteousness

One of the names of God is “The LORD Our Righteousness” (Jer. 33:16).

Jesus Christ is our righteousness (1Corinthians 1:30). We cannot have a right relationship with God in our own righteousness because our self-righteousness is as filthy rags. The translation for fithly rags is actually ….a menstral cloth. Do you see how the Lord views human acheivements? He is discusted by them!

We are guilty sinners in the need of a perfect righteousness from a perfect Saviour(Rom. 3:23; Jer. 17:9; Mark 7:20-23).

Christ our righteousness is a forensic term referring to our acquittal by God. All that we have as true Christians we have received as a FREE GIFT of God through Jesus Christ. We are justified ONCE AND FOR ALL for all by grace through faith in Christ. It never has to be repeated because it is a non-repeatable event. When we are untied to Christ, we have a righteous and holy standing before God. We are “in Christ.” We have a SPIRITUAL union in Him. We have a right relationship with God because of the finished work of JESUS CHRIST on the cross. Christ is the basis of our perfect acceptance with God (2 Cor. 5:21).

God has robed us with the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ. He is the basis of our acceptance with God and nothing else. To add human effort to the cross is a slap in the Saviour’s face. It is taking your filthy rags and offering them to him as he hung on the cross in his suffering.

Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:12 that we are declared by the atoning death of Christ righteous before God. This “righteousness” of God in Christ is that quality, which is ours when God acquits the believer, based upon the finished death of Jesus Christ (Rom.4: 22-25). God acquits the believer for Christ’s sake, not ours.

This righteousness, like justification, is always forensic. God is Judge, and we must stand before Him. We can only plead guilty because we are guilty. God treated Jesus Christ as if He were the guilty sinner, and deals with the believing sinner as though he or she were righteous. Christ did not deserve the curse; we did. The IMPUTED righteousness of Christ to the sinner is a demonstration of the wisdom of God. It is a display of His justice, mercy, grace, love, and power as would never enter into the mind of men. It is a manifestation, “The foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men” (I Cor. 1:25).

The cross and the resurrection is the power of God unto salvation. Therefore we should glory in the cross of Jesus Christ and God’s saving grace alone.

Because our right standing with God IS HIS WORK, He alone gets all the glory, praise and honour. God pronounces the verdict based upon whether we have accepted or denied Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Man cannot satisfy the Judge unless he is righteous. Man cannnot produce the righteousness God requires. It has to be given to him by the Saviour. Faith is counted to Christians as righteousness (Rom. 3:23; Gal. 3:26). Christ Himself becomes our righteousness , (2 Cor. 5:21). God the Righteous Judge views us not as we are in our sinfulness, but IN CHRIST. He is our perfect standing before God.

If you break even one of God’s laws then you have broken them all and are condemned to die.
It is only the righteousness of Christ that can possibly satisfy the law which demands PERFECTION.

Christ is our righteousness; nothing else will will satisfy God. It is the blood of a perfect sacrifice that atones for sin. Jesus Christ is the lamb of God who takes away our sins and his sacrifice alone that can save us from death and hell fire.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 1For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; THAT WE MIGHT BE MADE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

THE GREATEST MESSAGE THAT YOU WILL EVER HEAR

“Therefore,He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25

The word “saved” means to be delivered from any kind of evil, but when “saved” is used in regard to God’s salvation it’s core meaning is deliverance and preservation from all the consequences of sin. In this sense “saved” means to be delivered and preserved from the penalty of sin and the power of sin

The angel of the Lord told Joseph, “…And you shall call His name JESUS: for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21) Notice the spelling is SINS. Jesus not only saves from the penalty of SIN but He saves us from the particular SINS that hold us in their bondage.

Because Jesus Is The Intercessor Between God and Man
“…Since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:35

The following verses give us understanding as to what this intercession means: “Who is he who condemns? It is Christ Who died, and furthermore is also risen, Who is even at the right hand of God, Who also makes intercession for us.” Romans 8:34

“My little children, these things I write to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous: and He Himself is the propitiation (sacrifice) for our sins…” 1st John 2: 1,:2a.

JUSTIFIED BY FAITH

We are not justified by law keeping. Jesus according to scriptures nailed the Law to the cross and take it out of the way. This is what is meant by Christ fulfilling all the law of God. Jesus kept the law and on the cross nailed the curse which came through it on his body on the cross. HE WHO KNEW NO SIN BECAME SIN FOR US THAT WE MIGHT BE MADE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM. JESUS fulfilled the Law and the Prophets.

“For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.”Romans 6:14

“But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe….”Romans 3:21-22:

No one is good enough , no one can keep God’s laws perfectly. We cannot earn favour with with God based on our ability to keep the law. But because the Father loved his elect he is willing to give salvation to those who receive him by FAITH.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.”Ephesians 2:8

Faith is more than just intellectual belief. The demons believe, but they don’t have saving faith. Faith comes by hearing the word of God and being born of the word of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. Faith is not an act of the will but an act of divine intervention. “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’” Romans 8:15

You cannot be both under the law and under grace. Paul writes that the law is a schoolmaster and that before faith came he was kept under a schoolmaster. (the law).

Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

So BEFORE FAITH CAME he was under the law (schoolmaster). Therefore, before faith came he was not under grace. But after faith came he was no longer under the law, since he was under grace.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith;

“Ye are not under the law” (Rom 6:14)
“Ye are not under the law” (Rom 6:14)
“Ye are not under the law” (Rom 6:14)
“Ye are not under the law” (Rom 6:14)
“Ye are not under the law” (Rom 6:14)
“Ye are not under the law” (Rom 6:14)

Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

The law cannot work in us, BECAUSE we are justified by FAITH. And after faith is come, it is not our works or the works of the law, it is Christ who works in us, not the law.

“We are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus”(Eph 2:10)

“He worketh in me mightily”(Col 1:29).

The law only points out that we have sinned. The law condemns us, it beats us, and tells us “You need Christ’s salvation ” when we are breaking it.

Jesus Christ has redeemed his sheep from the law’s curse and now rather than being justified by keeping the law (which no one can do perfectly anyway) Christians are filled with the Holy Spirit who causes us to walk in step with the Spirit who keeps us from fulfilling the lusts of the flesh and who seals us until the end. We are crucified with Christ so that it is no longer “I” that lives but Christ who lives in us to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
