WHAT GOOD WORKS CANNOT DO

Works are ordained by God for us to do and they are, if initiated by the holy Spirit, fruit unto God that brings him glory and honor.

However, Good works DO NOT make you acceptable to God for salvation. Nor do good works justify you in any way before a righteous and holy God. If you cannot use good works to save you then why would good works be acceptable to keep you saved….GOD WORKS are only acceptable as a fruit of the holy Spirit produced in a Christian by Gods soverign grace, mercy, and perfect will!

Adding works to your salvation exempts you from grace because in effect what you are saying is that your works are as God ……as the blood of Jesus. They are not! Does a Christain perform good works…YES! AS A BY PRODUCT OF OUR FAITH BUT NOT TO CONSTITUTE FAITH!

Do you see the difference…this is why Paul was upset with the Galatians. By adding circumcision they were saying that the blood was not enough. Paul told them….hey guys this is not the gospel that was delivered to you but ANOTHER GOSPEL!

Adding works is the same spirit as adding circumscision. Let me show you why that is.

Circumcision had nothing to do with Isreals acceptance by God.
Abraham was already accepted by God before God asked him to be circumcised. God wanted the people to have a physical reminder of His promise to make of them a Great nation.

So circumsion was based on a promise or a covenant between two people. God and Abraham.
Abraham was to accept God and surrender his life to God. God kept his part of the contract which is what a covenant is, but Isreal kept breaking it. Since the law was made to point us to Christ, we can see that Isreal’s failure to keep the law reveals how easy man can turn away from Gods written law. THIS IS BECAUSE MAN IS BORN INTO SIN! HE HAS A SIN NATURE!

God wants to show us that Isreal could not keep the law so what makes us think that we can keep the law?

God then makes a New Covenant by the blood of Jesus. Since man cannot keep Gods laws in his own power and strength Jesus had to take away the power of sin that made us break Gods laws in the first place! The New Testament is that new agreement. Based on what principal….THE LAW OF FAITH!!!!!

Let me simplify that principal of faith for you …..

God has sent Jesus to die and take my place, therefore I believe…I believe and therefore I recieve….I recieve and therefore I am given GODS POWER to become GODS CHILD. I am Gods child and therefore I produce fruit unto God BY HIS POWER THAT DWELLS IN ME,and therefore I AM KEPT by the power of God unto salvation ready to be revealed on that Day!

Hebrews 8:1-16

But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

As Christians we do not need to go back to the law. If we are born again we have a new heart…or rather a regenerated spirit which is translated heart but really means spirit as they are interchangeable in scripture.

The new regenerated spirit of man is PERFECT with no sin!!! Our body is dead because of sin but our spirit man is the new creature and so therefore is right with God in every way. Our bodies are not yet redeemed and so subject to sin.The holy Spirit helps us to keep the body under. One day that old body will be destroyed and we will be given a new body. Mean time we are not under the dominion of sin which is in the body which by the way is also the brain! We are to be renewed in the spirit of our minds! God will help you mortify or keep under the body of flesh as we YEILD…GIVE THE RIGHT OF WAY
( which means surrender from self initiated works to God inspired works) to him and let him do it! He is able to SAVE TO THE UTTERMOST ALL WHO COME TO HIM.

Circumsicion is now of the heart! Under the New Covenant…heart remember is spirit! You are a spirit being that possesses a soul and lives in a body! Your spirit is born again unto God…brand new! Filled with Gods holy Spirit , if you are really saved. Many claim to be saved but alas they are not. Many have a religious ideology about Christianty and think that they are saved but they have not experienced the power of God. They have not entered into grace by faith in Christ. Rather they are under the law and still dead in tresspasses and sins. Salvation is of the Lord and the Spirit falls whethersoever HE DESIRES(John 1)

Deut.30:6

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Colossions 2:8-17

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ.

In conclusion brethren, we are not in debt to keep the law. Nor are we subject to the rudiments of this world. WE ARE NEW CREATURES IN CHRIST! FILLED WITH THE SAME SPIRIT THAT RAISED JESUS
CHRIST FROM THE DEAD.

If you do not have the Holy Spirit of course you will feel compelled to keep the law because you know you are a sinner and God requires you to be righteous! We who have the first fruits of the Spirit know that we have eternal life. We are assured of our salvation. If you are not sure, please examine yourself today. Are you really in the faith?…Do you know that you know that you know, you are saved and going to heaven to be with the lord?…..If not, lay down your burden of sin…for it truly is a burden! You cannot keep God’s law. Grace will keep you. Ask Jesus to save you from your sins and make you a new creature in Christ today!

It is God Which Works in You !

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13

Good works will not make you acceptable to God. There is a purpose for good works but it is not to attain righteousness. Good works are the fruit of a born again Christian and a by product of a born again Christian’s faith. Adding works to the attonement is heresy and will not keep you in salvation.

It is through Gods great riches of his grace and kindness towards us that saves us when we recieve him by faith. Not by any works at all on our part. It is a free gift!

We are created by God in Jesus Christ to perform good works. These works are ordained by God for each one of us pertaining to the gifts and callings of each individual Christian. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Ephesians 6: 7-10

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

God who has begun a good work in us has promised to continue that good work of his pleasure until Christ returns and we all have glorified bodies.

We will be found sincere and without offense until the day of Jesus Christ because we are filled with the fruits of his righteousness and that is what brings honor to God. Not our own fleshy works but those ordained by God for us to do.

What God has put in your heart to do then do. All for the GLORY OF GOD because if he has called you to do a work for him brethren, then he will equip you by his Spirit to do it!! Blessings today!

Philipians 1:5-11

For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

The Sovereignty of God

The Sovereignty of God

The Sovereignty of God

When God becomes dependant on man, in which the christian humanist doctrine purposes, then he is no longer really Sovereign God but becomes a “god” or diety that one is able to manipulate to meet ones own ends. All religions have this concept. For example, animism, controls the destiny of man by the manipulation of the spirits, polytheism manipulates the gods for their ambitions, Buddism appeases the flesh in order to achieve the perfect state of nothingness to be one with the divine, Hinduism appeases the gods and or the flesh to achieve Nirvana. All man made systems of religious beliefs in the earth try to control their god and thus are able (according to them) to manipulate their own destiny. This concept also occurs in Apostate Christianity.

For when man exalts himself as God (or a god) he then becomes the exclusive determiner of his own destiny. Humanism does this without diety and ‘Christian Humanism” does it with diety.” If it be thy will’, is not emphasized in this type of Christianity but rather it is, “if I will then God will grant.”  Christian Humanism adopts the same type of system as all other religions: by certain behavior,(obedience to laws), working out of principals and performances, man can achieve true blessing and achieve oneness with the divine.

Another feature of humanist christianity is the nature of man. Man is a created being with dignity and has godlike features. Man can choose the good because man has a measure of, untarnished from the fall, faith to, of his own accord, choose God and receive salvation with all its benefits in this life. He has a “free determined will”, that also according to them is not tarnished by the fall, that is able to choose the good from evil .  Law keepers who can work out their own salvation (with a little god help) are trying in their own efforts to achieve a state of holiness by performance rather than by God’s working out his sovereign will in each individual life.

However, the sovereign God of all the earth says this in his word,

“Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself” (Psa. 50:21)

“I am the first and the last; and beside me there is no God”(Isa. 44:6)

“Nay but, 0 man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say unto Him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?” (Rom. 9:20)

“So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy” (Rom. 9:16)

“He that thinketh himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself” (Gal. 6:3)

Revelations 19:4-6

Sam. 2:6-7 The Lord kills and makes alive; He brings down to Sheol and raises up. The Lord makes poor and rich; He brings low, He also exalts.

And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.

1 Sam. 12:22 For the Lord will not abandon His people on account of His great name, because the Lord has been pleased to make you a people for Himself.

Ps. 139:16 Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Thy book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.

“His Sovereignty rules over all.” – Ps. 103:19

The sovereignty of God is not emphasised in modern Christianity, but rather man is exalted as having good and god like attributes, able to help God in his salvation by contributing his will and to acheive holiness by performance rather than by grace alone.
