THE BLOOD OF JESUS

11903

The scriptures say that unless we “drink His Blood” we have no life in us but when we partake of what Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross we can then have eternal life.

Jesus said to his disciples, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you but whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. John 6:53

Christians are purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ. It is the shed blood of the lamb that was poured out as an offering once for all for God’s elect. The blood of Jesus Christ paid the penalty for sin and delivered the Christian from the ownership of the devil.

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us].Hebrews 9:12

Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.Acts 20:28

Christians are saved from God’s wrath by having faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through FAITH IN HIS BLOOD, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Romans 3: 24-28

The blood of Jesus Christ gives the Christian forgiveness of sins. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:28

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Ephesians 1:7

To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood. Revelation 1:5

In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14

The blood of the lamb also purchased Christians from the old man and the power of sin.

knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 1 Peter 1:18-19

To be redeemed by the blood of Jesus means to be purchased from slavery or the ownership of another. The blood of Jesus Christ is the purchase price that has translated (moved from one place to another) us from darkness of unbelief, slaves of sin and children of the wicked one.

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins
Colossians 1:13,14

The blood of Jesus gives Christian access to the throne of God to pray for our needs and the needs of others.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 10:19-22

The Christian’s bodies were bought for God by Jesus Christ and he now owns them and has filled them with His Holy Spirit. God now dwells in his people who are now his temples. Our temples are consecrated for his glory and set apart for service to him.

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Christians are now walking in God’s light, the same light that God commanded to shine in our hearts, the blood of Jesus continually cleanses us from all sin.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

Christian’s are made righteous or justified (just as if you never sinned) by the blood of Jesus Christ. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:9

God’s elect are no longer under wrath or condemnation like the world but rather the blood of Jesus Christ makes Christians righteous before God imparting holiness and a continual sanctification of his holiness.

Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Hebrews10:29, 13:12

Now God’s elect have a clean conscience before God.

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

God’s elect have been given full assurance of faith, because we are assured of our salvation because of the blood of Jesus!

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:19-23

The blood of Jesus gives the Christian peace with God.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation Ephesians 2:13

The blood of Jesus gives the Christian victory over the devil and his angels. Satan cannot defeat the blood bought saints whether in life or death for they are purchased by God through the blood of the lamb.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Revelation 5:9-10

The blood of Jesus makes all of God’s elect one in the Holy Spirit. And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood, Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth .

Maranatha brethren!

THE REASON FOR THE CROSS WAS TO SHED HIS BLOOD!

 1abloodduntitled

The Old Testament tabernacle was a mirror image of the tabernacle in Heaven where Christ would someday make the atonement with His shed blood. Jesus used His own blood which was shed on the cross to atone for our sins.

1 Peter 1:18,19

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers, But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot

Hebrews 10:19-22

Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
And having an high priest over the house of God. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water

Hebrews 7:25-27

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens. Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

This is important to understand; Jesus died and atoned for our sins ONCE. IT IS FINNISHED!

The cross was the instrument used to bring death to the messiah and shed his blood. It is not the cross that saves but rather the blood of the lamb that was shed on the cross. The cross represents surrender to the will of God. Even as Jesus surrendered his will to the father to go to the cross in order to shed his blood for the sins of the world.

Do not forget that it is the blood of the lamb that takes away our sin!

Hebrews 9:22-28

Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation

We can never earn salvation because only the blood of a perfect lamb without sin could atone for our sin! You can never win approval from God! Those whom he calls he also equips with his Spirit to do HIS WORKS!

Ephesians 2:1-9

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Justified by his Blood: The Gospel of Grace with Kim Balogh

  1. We cannot save ourselves, or keep ourselves saved, or keep the law, or serve God, in our own power or ability. The New Covenant was sealed with the blood of Jesus Christ. He is our Passover lamb. Christ died for us…WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS. He did not die for the self righteous or in other words those who think that they are good enough and capable enough or able to keep the Law of Moses.

Jesus Christ “took the cup, and after giving thanks, He gave it to them, saying, ‘All of you drink of it; for this is My blood, the blood of the New Covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins’ ” Matt.26:27-28According to the Bible God set aside the covenant of Law and established a “New Covenant” in order to redeem his people from sin and the power of the devil. Hebrews 10:19-23 calls it “a new and living way””But now hath he (Jesus) obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.”

“IN THAT HE (JESUS CHRIST) SAYS, “A NEW COVENANT,” HE HAS MADE THE FIRST OBSOLETE. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” Hebrews 8:13

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS, BY A NEW AND LIVING WAY WHICH HE (JESUS) CONSECRATED FOR US, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, FOR HE WHO PROMISED IS FAITHFUL.” Hebrews 10:19-23By offering His own blood, Jesus Christ purchased remission of sin for all who have been saved through the predetermining of God the Father. “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.” Rom 8:29-30According to the OT “without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin” In other words, no covenant can be established without a blood sacrifice. When God established His Covenant with Abraham, He  established it by passing between the halves of sacrificial animals Gen.15:17-18

The covenant was then established (with the blood of animals, which became “the blood of the covenant, which the LORD has made with you concerning all these words” Ex. 24:6-8When the Old Covenant was established, the people of Israel agreed to obey all the laws and statutes of God, which were written in the book of the law. Paul refers to these two covenant in scripture;“For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which things are an allegory: FOR THESE ARE THE TWO COVENANTS; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.” Gal 4:22-26The first covenant of Old Testament Law the Bible tells us had “faults” and other problems. The book of Hebrews uses the word “faults” to describe the old covenant. So, God established a new covenant, which He calls “a better covenant established on better promises” Hebrews 8:6-7

The Church of Jesus Christ is now based on the New Covenant established upon the blood Jesus shed at the cross in which he justifies sinners through His blood. This justification (make in right standing with God) comes through faith in the blood of Jesus, “having been justified by faith” Rom. 5:1

Jesus Christ is now a personal Savior, which means that His blood must be individually imputed to each one who has been given faith and granted repentance by him. “This cup is the New Covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you” Luke 22:20

Jesus Christ sacrificed His own life as the Passover Lamb of God “But Christ Himself has become High Priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made by human hands (that is, not of this  present world material things such as the temple in Jerusalem]). Not by the blood of goats and calves, but by the means of His own blood, He entered once for all into the holiest [into the presence of God the Father, as the perfect and complete sin offering],having by Himself secured everlasting redemption for us” Heb. 9:11-12)

Under this dispensation of Grace, God no longer exclusively deals with Israel through the Mosaic Law. He is now dealing with all nations of the world through “Grace” (free unmerited and undeserved favor) and this grace brings faith to believe, repentance towards God, justification,( right standing with God) sanctification (set aside as holy) and produces godly living by being created unto good works by the predisposed, predetermined will of God for each individual Christian.

“Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.”  Rom 3:27-30

“BEING JUSTIFIED FREELY BY HIS GRACE THROUGH THE REDEMPTION THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS, whom God set forth as a propitiation BY HIS BLOOD, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Romans 3:24-26

Obedience to the Law is now not part of salvation. Christians are under the covenant of HIS BLOOD which is “The Mystery of Christ“.  This great salvation comes by Grace (unmerited favor) through faith in Christ alone, without the works of the Mosaic Law. Under the dispensation of Grace, the earned merits of obedience to Law are eliminated and salvation is granted as “the gift of God” based on the believer’s confession of faith in Christ alone (Rom. 10:9-10, 13, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:24-25, Romans 4:1-8, Titus 3:5-7).

“Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands—that at that time you were without Christ, BEING ALIENS FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF ISRAEL AND STRANGERS FROM THE COVENANTS OF PROMISE, HAVING NO HOPE AND WITHOUT GOD IN THE WORLD. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, HAVING ABOLISHED IN HIS FLESH THE ENMITY, THAT IS, THE LAW OF COMMANDMENTS CONTAINED IN ORDINANCES, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

NOW, THEREFORE, YOU ARE NO LONGER STRANGERS AND FOREIGNERS, BUT FELLOW CITIZENS WITH THE SAINTS AND MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD OF GOD, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.”  Ephesians 2:11-22

“And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, HAVING WIPED OUT THE HANDWRITING OF THE REQUIREMENTS THAT WAS AGAINST US, WHICH WAS CONTRARY TO US. AND HE HAS TAKEN IT OUT OF THE WAY, HAVING NAILED IT TO THE CROSS.” Colossans 2:13-14

“FOR AS MANY AS ARE OF THE WORKS OF THE LAW ARE UNDER THE CURSE; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” BUT THAT NO ONE IS JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW IN THE SIGHT OF GOD IS EVIDENT, for “the just shall live by faith.” YET THE LAW IS NOT OF FAITH…” Galatians 3:10-12

“Therefore BY THE DEEDS OF THE LAW NO FLESH WILL BE JUSTIFIED IN HIS SIGHT”. Romans 3:20

“You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; YOU HAVE FALLEN FROM GRACE.” Galatians 5:4

Those redeemed are no longer slaves of sin, but have become the servants of Jesus Christ and God the Father, “WHAT! Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, which you have withinyou from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought with a price. Therefore, glorifyGod in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” I Cor. 6:19-20

“Knowing that you were not redeemed by corruptible things, by silver or gold, from your futile way of living, inherited by tradition from your forefathers; but by the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” I Pet. 1:18-19

“For if the blood of goatsand bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are defiled, sanctifies to the purifyingof the flesh [not the mind], to a far greater degree, the blood of Christ, Who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, shallpurify [purge or cleanse] your conscience fromdead works [works that lead to death] to serve the living God” Heb. 9:13-14

By the blood of Jesus Christ have direct access to God the Father: “Therefore, brethren, havingconfidence to enter into the true holiest [into the presence of God the Father in heaven] bythe blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which He consecrated for us through the veil (that is, His flesh), and having a great High Priest over the house of God, let us approach God with a true heart, with full conviction of faith, our hearts having been purified [by the blood of Jesus]from a wicked conscience, and our bodies having been washed with pure water [by baptism]. Let us hold fast without wavering to the hope that we profess, for He Who promised is faithful” Heb. 10:19-23

“Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. THEREFORE, MY BRETHREN, YOU ALSO HAVE BECOME DEAD TO THE LAW THROUGH THE BODY OF CHRIST, THAT YOU MIGHT BE MARRIED TO ANOTHER — TO HIM WHO WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD, that we should bear fruit to God. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit AND NOT IN THE OLDNESS OF THE LETTER ( OLD COVENANT LAW).” Romans 7:1-6

Jesus Christ delivers Christians from Satan, the devil, through His blood and has been rescued from the power of Satan: “Giving thanks to the Father, Who has made us qualified for the share of the inheritance of the saints in the light; Who has personally rescued us from the power of darkness and has transferred us unto the kingdom of the Son of His love; in Whom we have redemption through His own blood, even the remission of sins” Col. 1:12-14

Cleansing by the blood of Jesus Christ is a continual process. The blood of Jesus Christ gives every born again Christian the victory over the devil: “But they overcame him [Satan] through the blood of the Lamb, and through the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death” Rev. 12:11

Christians are being created by God unto good works on a daily basis by the fruit of the Spirit which is being developed in them because of blood of Jesus Christ: “And may the God of peace, Who raised our Lord Jesus from among the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep—through the blood of the everlasting covenant, perfect you in every good work in order that you may do His will; accomplishing in you that which is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to Whom be the glory into the ages of eternity.
    Amen”

So in eternity Christians will not be able to boast about how many good works we did or how much labor we put into the kingdom of God or how much faith we had or how much we prayed, because it is God who has worked by HIS GRACE those things in each person according as HE WILLED and not by our own SELF effort!

“So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.”

1 Corinthians 3:7“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10So when Christians meet Jesus they will not be able to pat themselves on the back but rather will sing his song of praise for all eternity!

“Worthy are You to take the book, and to open its seals because You wereslain, and did redeem [purchase] us to God [the Father] BY YOUR OWN BLOOD, out of every tribe and language and people and nation…” Rev. 5:9
