ALL Things Work Together For Good

graceSeeing-Ourselves-Through-the-Eyes-of-God-Chosen-IntentionallyPursuing.com_-300x199

We have all heard of Romans 8:28, that all things are working together for our good but rarely will you hear the whole subject matter within its full context.  Let’s take a look shall we?

Starting with the beginning of Romans chapter 8, let us look at who is speaking and to whom and why; as well as what is being said within its entirety.  Most scholars believe that this book was the words of Paul the apostle to the church in Rome.  Apparently there was no established Christian institution in Rome but rather a group of different families who congregated together in homes.  Paul does not address a particular Church of Rome but different households. Paul uses the phrase, “all that are at Rome,” which were both Jew and Gentile. Paul covers in the book of Romans many topics but I want to address one in particular, that being; all things work together for good to those who love God.

First of all, we know that Paul is addressing the Christians at Rome, whom we know from history suffered great persecution. Paul says in Romans chapter 8, that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. To be “in Christ” is to be baptized into his death and raised to life by the Holy Spirit, in other words, born of God. Not baptized in water per say, but baptized into Christ. Remember there is a baptism of fire, not just water, just so you know. That fire is Holy Ghost fire. If you have water baptism but no baptism of fire, you may not really be born again. Baptism in water can be a religious exercise if not accompanied with baptism of fire, or being born from power from on high.

Many sitting in churches today mimic Christians in some outward behavior and culture but have never really been born of God. They have not actually had an encounter with the Holy Spirit and made alive by his miraculous power. They know about Jesus but have never personally met him. They lack the power, even though they may have a form of godliness.

What power you ask? Dumanis Holy Ghost power; to heal the sick, raise the dead, speak in tongues, cast out devils and work miracles.

Those in Christ are not condemned. They are not under God’s judgment and nor will they face his wrath. Those walking after the flesh however, are in condemnation. These are those who are not in Christ, not walking in the Spirit because they have no life in them.  Paul continues in the next verse to say that the Holy Spirit of life makes the Christian free from sin and death because of Christ’s atonement. It is very clear that Paul is differentiating between the Christian and the carnal unsaved person. Paul says that walking in the Spirit of God is now the perquisite for godly living and not the keeping of Old Testament laws and rituals. Paul tells us in this chapter that YOU ARE NOT IN THE FLESH IF THE SPIRT OF GOD DWELLS IN YOU BUT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE GOD’S SPIRT THEN YOU ARE NOT SAVED.

How do you know if you have God living in you? Paul says to examine yourself to see if you are really in the faith. If you do not personally know the God of the Bible it is likely that you are not saved. What does it mean “to know”? Well the Bible likens the “to know’ as the same kind of intimacy that a man and a wife have. Do you know his voice? Have you experienced his touch, his caress, his feelings, and his heart? Does he wake you up in the middle of the night to pray? Does he sing songs out of your spirit and weep with you in your sorrow? Do you feel his breath of life in your being? Are you certain without a shadow of a doubt that you really belong to him? Does God bear witness in your heart that you know him? Do you know, that you know, that you know, that you are saved because you know him?

If not then you need to surrender to Jesus and make him both Savior and Lord of your life. Knowing about Jesus and believing in him does not save you. Even the devil believes in Jesus. You must know him! Belong to him; be connected to his Holy Spirit by the blood of the lamb. Those led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. To be led is to have God direct your life, not you. You don’t make the decisions, he does. You listen in prayer and obey what his Holy Spirit tells you to do and where to go.

Paul next tells us in Romans chapter 8 that the sufferings of this present world are of no consequence in comparison to our eternal inheritance that we hope and wait patiently for. Paul lets God’s people know that the Holy Spirit which lives in his people knows our weakness and he will pray through us to the Father for help in all our struggles. God’s will is going to be birthed forth as the Spirit intercedes with prayers of intercession by groaning and moaning deep in our spirit’s as we seek his face.

Then right after that Paul says that all things are working together for our good. We can now see the connection. The Christian who walks in the Spirit and is suffering in this present world, prays by the Spirit that dwells in their spirit for God’s will which is birthed through prayer by the Holy Spirit, to work ALL things for our good. The reason Paul says this is because the Christian is predestined by God the Father, to be conformed into the image or likeness of his Son, Jesus Christ. So, why are ALL things working together for our good? So that we can be made into the image of his Son, that is in character and attributes. God has a destiny for each of us; a predetermined plan and that plan is being worked out by the Holy Spirit as he prays through us, God’s perfect will.

Who shall condemn those in Christ? Who shall separate us from God and his will for us?  No one! This is because Jesus sits at the right hand of God the Father making intercession for us as the Holy Spirit intercedes through us. Paul says that in persecution, trials, sorrows, hardships and even death; we are more than conquerors. We are living out a predetermined plan of almighty God for his purposes. Whether we suffer or are persecuted or even killed, we will come out the victor because Jesus conquered death! So, walk in the Holy Spirit and let him lead you. Even through the fire he will be with you and make all things work together for good, that is for God’s predetermined plan and purposes!

Maranatha!

Blessed is the Man that Endures Trial

wide road99823b460786b9b524f1570b295cec0d

What exactly does it mean to be blessed and how does one get blessed by God? The Hebrew word for “blessed” is ASHERI or BARAK. Whenever a person is blessed by God the word BARAK it is always used. This means that the blessing is initiated by God and is beneficial to the person receiving the blessing.

In reconciling the use of trials and tribulations of this world that God allows in our life to occur and God’s blessing in our life, this is what I feel the Lord has shown me. First of all the perquisite for blessings is to know Jesus Christ and be clothed in his righteousness. This we can see from the scripture, in Matthew chapter 5 verse.6. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Not our own righteousness but the righteousness that comes by faith in Jesus Christ.

This blessing comes through having a humble heart. (Poor in spirit) If one will not humble himself before God and admit being a sinner then the blessing of salvation will not come.  Pride is the negative attitude of the world, it is Satan’s attitude. Satan is uppity, prideful, boastful, thinks he is hot stuff. We can never get saved having this kind of an attitude. This is why God allows life trials and tribulations to occur in the lost so that they get humble and come off their high horse! God also uses the law, he shows the lost how evil they are and how they fall short of God’s expectations.  He uses these things to bring us to salvation; because he loves us.

Simply put, a child who is rebellious and never does what he is told, needs correction and discipline for his good. We need correction and discipline for our own good! Even the Christian is constantly being humbled and made dependant on God. God will never use a Saul. That is a person who thinks that he has a right or is God’s gift to everyone. God will always use a David, one humble and small in his own eyes. The humble boasts only in the Lord, not in their own ability.

But to this one I will look, to him who is poor and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My Word. Psalm 25:9-10

To be blessed by God does not mean that you will not experience hardship! When you are blessed by God it is based on right relationship with him but also by certain behaviors. Remember that James said that “I will show you my faith by my works” In other words, if you have faith in Jesus Christ, your life will bear fruit to show that you have been born of God.

In order to perform these behaviors we must be led and moved by the Holy Spirit and not by laws, rules, and regulations. An example would be, if I give all my money to the poor thinking that I will earn kudos with God; then I am gravely misinformed. Cain’s sacrifice of his works was not acceptable to God because they came by his own hand and for the motive of winning God’s blessings. Ables’ sacrifice, on the other hand was expectable because his sacrifice was based on God’s requirements and not by his own works. Able knew that nothing that he could do in his own ability would make God love him more or accept him. Only the requirement of a sacrifice of a lamb (figurative of Jesus Christ) was acceptable.

This is the same way with blessings from God. They are delivered according to certain requirements and based on how the Holy Spirit directs. In other words, my giving must be initiated by faith in God’s Holy Spirit which always comes with a love and passion for what one is giving to. If I give out of a requirement of necessity, to get a blessing, then my giving will not be acceptable to God BUT if my giving is initiated by the Holy Spirit it will be done with a joyful heart, even if I have given my last penny. You see, it is all based on the humble attitude.

He teaches the humble His way… Psalm 25:9-10

If you read all of Matthew chapter 5 you will see the requirements for certain blessings to come. I will bring a short caption of some of them. As you can see blessings are not always material and may not occur until we enter heaven.

Requirement:  the poor in spirit (humble) Blessing: theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Requirement:   those that morn Blessing:  they shall be comforted

Requirement:  Be meek Blessing:  they shall inherit the earth.

Requirement: hunger and thirst after righteousness Blessing: they shall be filled

Requirement:  Be merciful   Blessing: shall obtain mercy.

Requirement: Be pure in heart. Blessing they shall see God

Requirement: Peacemakers. Blessing: called the children of God

Requirement: persecuted for righteousness’ sake Blessing: theirs is the kingdom of heaven

Requirement: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake Blessing: great is your reward in heaven

In order to be blessed by God we must love God, walk in his ways by the power of the Holy Spirit, be obedient to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and God’s word, do not go after false God’s (idols in our heart) Deut. 11:22, 26-28

Obedience to the Holy Spirit, (God in us) walking in the Holy Spirit, listening to his voice will give you a life blessed by God. Remember that many are the afflictions of the righteousness BUT the Lord delivers from them all!

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21

Blessed is the man that endures trial: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.

In conclusion, to be blessed by God does not always mean material nor does it mean that all blessings will be fulfilled in this life; some blessings will be fulfilled in eternity.

CHAPTER ONE OF “THE WIDE ROAD”

kims bookunnamed

                                                                   The Cross Roads

Wherefore, as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness. Hebrews 3:7, 8

Joel stood at the crossroads of life. His dark shaggy hair fell over his youthful brow, shadowing the piercing of his deep grey eyes that were staring intently into the valley that loomed before him. A fierce inner struggle was taking place in the young man’s heart so that he groaned from deep within. “Which way should I choose?” he cried.

The Good Shepherd watched the young man who stood halting between two opinions and like the soft gentle rain falling from heaven, he began to speak softly into Joel’s heart. “Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”

After contemplating the narrow way, Joel found that he just could not bear the thought of carrying that heavy cross through the gate of life and down the narrow road. Being quite aware of the story told to all travellers of how narrow was the way of the righteous, he cringed at the very thought of it. Joel knew that the narrow way led to persecutions and tribulations for the word’s sake and he sure did not want to be burdened with that.

Looking into the Narrow way, Joel realized that he would never be able to walk down such a narrow path and still be encumbered with the cares of this life. To his dismay he saw that cross at the door of Hope and there was just no way of getting around it. “You don’t want to take that narrow road do you?” Joel’s carnal nature balked as Joel pondered the narrow way. “Come on give me a break! That way is for losers, the simple-minded who need a crutch to get through life!

Joel’s moral conscience that wanted to obey the written law rather than the Spirit of life, also cried out at Joel’s peering into the narrow way. “Don’t take that road! You won’t be able to obey the law for righteousness!”

Considering the voice of his moral conscience which tried to persuade him to walk in self-righteousness and his carnal nature which pulled him towards vice and vanity, Joel turned aside from the way of life and began his journey down the wide road.

Filled with his own ways, Joel was enticed by his carnal nature, to pursue after the pleasures of this life. With delight he traveled the wide road experiencing the most tempting sensations that he could possibly imagine. Revealed before him in all their arrangement of wonderful and tantalising fare were the pleasures of this life conceived from the inordinate desires of the hearts of men.

By choosing his own way, the traveler of the wide road at once began to pursue the passions of his wayward heart.  Having resisted the gentle wind of conviction that blew over him at the cross roads of life, Joel’s heart soon became hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. By rejecting the way of truth, he was soon filled with the error of his own ways and it was not long before his journey down the wide road led him through the deceitful weeds of wicked intentions. In Joel’s ignorance, he began to pursue with rigorous fervour, worldly endeavours and being tempted by the dark powers of this present world who ruled the wide road, he soon became entangled with the affairs of this life.

The Good Shepherd who seeks out those who are lost and without hope on the wide road, continued to watch over the young man on his journey with great compassion. For Joel was a chosen vessel called by God for his eternal purposes and even though he would go through a time of great darkness, the Father who knows the beginning from the end would draw Joel and call him out of darkness into his glorious light.

Traveling through the weeds of wicked intentions that lead through the thorny spikes of worldly sorrows, Joel in stubborn determination continued in his own way until he came to the entrance of the land of Self-seeking.  At the entrance to the city he saw a sinister looking man sitting in a booth by the wayside. Dressed in black attire and wearing a devilish grin upon his face the man motioned for Joel to come towards him. As he did, Joel saw a sign hanging over the booth where the man was sitting, that read; “Welcome to the Wide Road. All travelers required to exert self will and worldly ambition. Have a pleasant journey.”

The man at the booth, who was eyeing the traveler of the wide road rather impertinently with an all-knowing look upon his face, caused Joel to become rather annoyed. With an impudence of his own, he decided to confront the man head on. “What seems to be your problem?” Joel asked not bothering to cover up his quite blatant aggravation. The man at the booth just ignored him and with a mischievous grin sighed, as if to say, “I have been here so many times before and you are just another number of the many who are going their own way down the wide road. ”

Holding out a pair of dark glasses for Joel to take, the man at the booth began twisting his thin moustache, and said with a smirk on his face. “Here, friend, you will need to wear these if you want to continue in your own way down the Wide Road.”

“What are they for?” Joel asked as he held up the dark glasses to the sun and peered curiously through them.

They are your blinders,” the man grinned again mischievously. “All our travelers must wear them, you know, they keep out the light.

“How will I ever be able to see with these things on?” Joel asked the smirking man in bewilderment.

These blinders will not obstruct your vision in any way, traveler, but serve only to keep the messengers of the gospel from penetrating your understanding. You do not want to lose your own way do you?” The man grinned with a look of glee.

“Why, of course not,” Joel balked. “who are these messengers of the gospel anyway?”

Bothersome creatures and quite fanatic I’m afraid.” The man at the booth sighed with resignation. “They try to hinder your journey down the wide road and will even stop it if they can, by preaching that foolish gospel which claims only one way to salvation. You don’t believe that stuff do you?”

Joel shook his head quite vehemently. “No, I do not!”

I didn’t think so or you wouldn’t be here.” The man at the booth laughed uproariously. “Who could believe such a tale? Did you know that those goody two-shoes are always trying to keep our travelers from enjoying the pleasures of this life?”

Wrinkling his nose with displeasure as he fastened the dark glasses on his face, Joel declared with pride, “I intend on enjoying the pleasures of this life and no pesky light creature is going to take off my blinders of that you can be sure!”

The man at the booth twirled his handle bar moustache and grinned even more at Joel’s wilfulness. “Well so long. I guess I’ll be on my way now.” Joel said as he turned around to continue his journey down the wide road. “I’m off to search for the pleasures of this life.”

The man at the booth then yelled after Joel, “Remember; don’t let those messengers of the gospel take off your blinders. You could get saved from the pleasures of this life and change over to the other side if you are not careful.”

“I’ll be careful.” Joel yelled back.

The wide road which at first was filled with ease and comfort gradually became cumbersome for the traveler and very unpredictable. Joel soon found himself being led down one dead-end and then another. Finally, after going down many bends and curves, the traveler of the wide road became quiet exhausted and he fell down into a crumbled heap on the cold and stony ground.

Just when Joel was drifting off into a deep slumber, from out of nowhere sprung up from the cracks of the hard cold ground, vines, which began ever so craftily to wind themselves about the traveler of the wide road’s feet. Clinging to his weak flesh the vines of vanity held on to Joel tenaciously, keeping him firmly fixed to the cares of this life.

Awaking with a start, the traveler of the wide road found to his dismay, that he could not in his own power break free from the intense grip that the vines of vanity had upon him. Creeping up his pant legs the vines of vanity had found their way to the traveler of the wide road’s heart, where with a death like grip they squeezed on tightly to his high-minded imagination that was being nourished, and fed upon the wisdom of this world.

At the point of absolute despair, Joel cried out, to God or a god, whoever would listen and come to his aid during times of trouble. To his surprise, once again Joel heard the familiar still small voice calling him to the narrow way.

What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and yet loses his own soul? What can a man give in exchange for his soul?

Struggling with his carnal human nature that desired after that which perishes with the using, the traveler of the wide road found himself becoming more and more bound up in the vines of vanity. The more that Joel tried to get free from the ensnarement of the cares of this life, the more entangled he became. It was not until Joel completely reached the end of his own self-exertion that he finally began to be able to bend his leg inward just enough to straighten out his own way and get part of himself free. At the sound of the Good Shepherd’s voice whose mercy spread over Joel like the wings of an eagle, the vines of vanity eventually began to loosen their grip.

It was just enough for the traveler of the wide road to find a way of escape. Then with all his might Joel forced his way out from the vines of vanity which had grown in abundance on the hard cold ground. But like an ox going to the slaughter, the traveler of the wide road once again returned to the pathway of wicked intentions that he hoped would lead him eventually to the pleasures of this life.

Winding and winding, the way of self- seeking seemed to be getting Joel nowhere, until just before he was about to give up on ever finding his own way, he saw before him a lush valley spread out in the not too far distance. It was a wonderful discovery for the traveler of the wide road to be able to finally find a place to satisfy the longing of his empty heart and rest his weary troubled soul from the trials of life that he had just experienced.

In this deceptive valley on the wide road grew many trees, worldly and wise. Hanging from their branches were passionate fruit that was soft and juicy and blossoming among the enlightened of this age were flowers adorned with vain beauty; tempting tulips in a variety of colors, Chrysanthemums adorned with pompous pompons, peonies tall and tantalizing, roses with spiky thorns, daffodils trumpeting clusters of hearsay as well as many other kinds of wild flowers growing wild and wondrous.

The traveler of the wide road, with pleasure partook of the forbidden fruit of worldly desire as he frolicked among the wild flowers whose fragrance intoxicated him with euphoric pleasure, so much so that Joel soon became completely over taken by the love of this present world. Eventually, even the air in which Joel breathed became so enticing that he could scarce keep awake and alert to moral danger. Having his mind controlled by the sensual lure which had captivated his heart and dulled his perceptively, Joel was aroused exceedingly to the cares of this life.

Having his heart filled with the intoxicating aroma of worldly passions and the wisdom of this world, Joel closed his eyes and fell into a deep slumber, at the base of a huge willow tree that was filled with the strength and might of the gods of this age. He slept in self-confidence and snored aloud in his apathetic slumber.

Flooding the traveler of the wide road’s dreams were fanciful feasts of delicious dainties and delightful passions that tantalized his imagination. This caused him to sleep on and on without feeling any immediate consequence for his selfish motives and wilful deeds in which he pursued life.

When Joel finally awoke from his sensual dreaming his head was groggy from the heady aroma of the bouquets that surrounded him in the deceptive valley. Stumbling to his feet, with the worldly wisdom still lingering on his soul, the traveler of the wide road began to move ever so slowly through the valley and into a very crooked path which overflowed with the love of this present world.

Making his own way down the crooked path, Joel, was not quite able to shake the conviction of having resisted the still small voice. With concerted willfulness he hardened his heart and set his will once more towards traveling down the wide road in search of the pleasures of this life.

Like the sound of many waters, whose waves flowed back into the ocean, the still small voice became only an echo in his memory, with the words, “Come follow Me.” whispering ever so quietly into his heart.

By following the crooked path, Joel was led to many more crooked paths with each of these having their own particular bend. Some were muddy and cumbersome, while others were dusty and dry. Still others were lined with hewn stones formed by the ways of man having a hard path which reflected the hearts of all travelers who sought after their own way. “They have made for themselves crooked paths,” the Good Shepherd sighed as he watched Joel journey in his own way, down the wide road, “Whoever goes in that way shall not know peace.”

The crooked path led the traveler of the wide road towards all things askew and horribly deformed. The right way was maligned and evil spoken of and the narrow path mocked with contempt. After stumbling over many stumbling stones, Joel decided to rest in a grassy field on a crooked path, misleading in its delusive deviation from the truth.

The Entrance of Thy Words giveth Light

bible2-timothy-2-15-the-word-of-truth-beige_1084659528

This morning I woke up with this verse popping into my head. I realized it was from the Lord and so I felt led to do a Bible study. Here is what I was shown by the Holy Spirit. May you all be blessed today by his word.

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Ps. 119:30

Interestingly enough the word entrance in the Hebrew is pethach which means the doorway or entrance. Jesus said in his word that HE was the Door and Gate to life.

The Door or Gate, Jesus, is the living word or the word made flesh, and gives light or illumination and understanding, discernment, teaching, to the simple or those lacking knowledge.

The logos or written word of God is a historical and spiritual document given as a testimony and guide for all who are disciples or would be disciples of Jesus Christ. Jesus, as he walked the earth, was that light or word in the flesh. In other words Jesus was a living record of that entire word God had spoken of in the law and prophets. Jesus fulfilled all the Old Testament.

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Matthew 5:17-18:

Now under the New Testament, we have another witness to the logos or written testament. This is the person of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that when he would go away, (ascend to heaven) he would give us another comforter, teacher, helper, guide. The rhema or living word comes from the Holy Spirit. Keep in mind though that every word spoken by God will be witnessed to in the logos.

But the Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:16

If you cannot find a confirmation of any extra biblical words or manifestation please reject them. Satan can do miracles and he is very clever at imitating God. He also can preach the gospel or at least his version of it. I had a dream the other night, in which many behind the pulpit speaking great oracles with zeal, were not sent by God but were in fact counterfeits. So, I do exhort you brethren to be very careful, because in these last days many will be deceived; even many who think that they are Christians. Unfortunately they are not true disciples of Jesus Christ but have another spirit and serve another Jesus. Not the logos Jesus, the word made flesh.

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:  The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.  And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. Acts 16:16-18

Things to watch for are those talking about being blessed all the time. Remember that Jesus told these kinds of people that they were only following him for the fish and loaves. They did not want to carry a cross. In the last days many of these false believers will fall away, as times economically are going to get very tough.

Also, watch for extra Biblical manifestations that are weird, many times this is flesh and foolery. In one church I found dollar store sparkles on the floor and I called them on it. Seriously, it is that bad out there. A lot of kooks are behind the pulpit these days. Jesus is NOT coming back for the church. He is coming to get his BRIDE, those who are waiting and watching for him, and are staying in his word. The church or those claiming to be Christians, and are only Jesus groupies, will be left behind to go through the tribulation. Of the 12 virgins Jesus talked about, 5 of them were left behind! Don’t forget that!

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. Matthew 25:1-13

The foolish virgins are those who have no oil in their lamps. They have no true illumination of truth. They don’t see the times that we live in but are chasing after their foolish fantasies. God’s word (JESUS) is the entrance to life. Stay in God’s word and it will illuminate truth to you. Test all things by scriptures!

If you are interested in learning more about the foolish ones on the wide road, I have written an allegory in which I reveal these many false mind sets, for those with ears to hear. It is available on Amazon, The Wide Road by Kim Balogh.

ARE YOU TRUSTING IN YOUR OWN HEART?

grace41f0f702-8ce6-4811-8380-a12b0ba4efdc-large

Humans without God’s intervention cannot do any good. Even though outwardly a person may look like they are behaving morally or righteously, that does not mean that in God’s eyes the deeds are good or worthy. This is because, as the Bible tells us, the heart is desperately wicked and deceitful. Let’s take a look at this scripture to define it further, shall we?

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

The heart in this scripture is defined as the inner man, or spirit (leb-Hebrew) and the soul realm, which consists of the mind, knowledge, reflection, memory, conscience, emotions, senses.

The heart is deceitful (aqob ) sly, insidious, dishonest, unprincipled, two-faced, crafty, scheming, sneaky, crooked, treacherous, above all things, or in other words more deceitful than anything that exists.

The heart is desperately wicked. (anash), It is sick, incurable, weak, frail.  Who can know it? No one can perceive distinguish, admit, acknowledge, confess, experience, be wise about, be aware of, observe, the heart of a person.

God looks at the heart of a person and not just the outward things such as acts, deeds, accomplishments, or external appearances.

This is why the Bible says that unless a person is born again or born from above, they cannot see the kingdom of God. The heart that is unregenerate is wicked before God; filled with wrong motives and all manner of evil that is opposed to God and his kingdom. Even the good that the unsaved person does is filled with Satan’s nature because of the fall of Adam. Filled with hypocrisy, lying, deceit, crafty excuses and wrong motives!

God must give a person a new heart. What exactly does this mean? It does not mean a heart that is automatically perfect. What it means is that the inner man or spirit must be reconnected to God so that it is no longer under the control of the evil one but is now God’s dwelling place. When we become born again, the Holy Spirit comes in our heart to do his work; by readjusting our thinking, change emotional responses, give a clean conscience due to his forgiveness, and change our motives from self centeredness to God centeredness.

Without being reconciled to God, we cannot know God and nor do we even want to know him. This is because God‘s ways are not our ways. The unsaved person hates (is in enmity with) God and his kingdom. The unsaved along with their father, the devil, fight against God’s kingdom. They hate his laws and his way of doing things! In fact, just like the devil, the unsaved think that they have the answers to all life’s problems and don’t need any God over them! They are in a rebellion against God just as Satan is in rebellion against God.

“As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.   They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one. Their throat [is] an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit; The poison of asps [is] under their lips”; “Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet [are] swift to shed blood;   Destruction and misery [are] in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Romans 3:10

An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: [There] [is] no fear of God before his eyes. For he flatters himself in his own eyes, When he finds out his iniquity [and] when he hates. The words of his mouth [are] wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise [and] to do good. He devises wickedness on his bed; He sets himself in a way [that] [is] not good; He does not abhor evil.” Psalm 36:1

When we confess that we are sinners, what we are doing is agreeing with God about the state of our soul and heart condition. (This usually happens by coming to the end of us and our ability in our own efforts has failed.) Then when we ask for forgiveness of sins based on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on our behalf, he forgives us. But it does not stop there. God reconciles us to himself (like before the fall) and makes us born from above; which means that our hearts become filled with the Holy Spirit and he is ready to do his work in each of us, according to his ways, and his will. What is this work you ask? It is to conform and transform us, into the image of his Son. This work starts on earth and continues on even into eternity!

Just so you know, this world is boot camp for eternity! God is preparing us for our heavenly calling which he ordained before the foundation of the world as stated in scriptures. Getting back to our topic on the heart, the Bible says, that whatever does not proceed from faith is sin. What this means is that whatever we do that is not centered on trust, reliance, and yielding to God, is of the flesh or evil heart and therefore is sin. If any motive is self centered instead of God centered IT IS SIN!! It does not matter how good it may look on the outside because God knows our true motives.

This is why scriptures tell us to do everything for God’s glory! As long as we are in to something for ourselves rather than for God, then we are operating in the old man and his evil nature. The unsaved do not have the capability to do anything for God as they are self centered. This is why religions have sacrificial rites and practice chastising the flesh, in order to be, what they consider moral or godly. The unsaved know that they are not right with God instinctively! God’s moral code is written in their heart, but they are unable to perform what God requires for his acceptance in their own ability.  They are pretty good at faking it though! They don’t stop to consider however, that God knows every motive of their heart.

This is why a person must be born again to be saved. Trusting in our own ability or good deeds will not give eternal life, because of the evil of the unregenerate heart.  We don’t even know or recognize the evil of our own heart!

God wants to give you a new heart, which means God wants to own your heart, restoring you to a pre-fall condition.

Scriptures tell us that none are good. Not angels because some of them fell or even Adam and Eve because they fell by temptation. NO ONE IS GOOD AND PERFECT OR EVER WILL BE BUT GOD!! However, what can happen is that the perfect one can make his abode in you and transform you and lead you to walk in his ways! When you have the faith of God imparted to you, then you can live a yielded life, (not perfect) in which you are pleasing God.

The carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God” Rom. 8:7-8

Every day we must put off the flesh, as Christians. In other words, we must not operate in the natural man who is led by the senses, and carnal mind. We need to think like God, by filling our minds with God’s word, and by prayer, being led by his Holy Spirit in all that we do. The Bible tells us to examine our selves to see if we are in the faith. This applies to the Christian as well as a religious non saved person.

What are our motives? Ask God to show you. What does God want us to do in the situation instead of reacting in the old nature? Are we mortifying the deeds of the body by the Holy Spirit who dwells in our heart or acting in the flesh? Are we surrendering to the Holy Spirit to do his work or are we being self sacrificing to honor the pride of our flesh?

Our true heart must always be exposed in the light of God’s truth (his word and the Holy Spirit) and then crucified to Christ. This means we need to die to self and be filled with him. In this way, we have the faith which pleases God in all that we do!

Remember, it is Jesus Christ who must live through us and his ways which must be yielded to, not our own. This is because the heart is very, very, deceitful. We cannot even know in our own understanding just how wicked that our heart really is! Only God can give you the discernment to recognize your true motives.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Jesus the Son of God

According to the Bible, there is only one true God, only one Creator of all things. There is only one way and one message in order to be saved from sin, death and hell. If your god does not line up with the written testimony of the God of the Bible then you are trusting in a false god and a false message.

The Bible says that God is sovereign over all things, even the devil.

I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. Isaiah 45: 5-6

God the Father sent His Son Jesus the Christ or anointed one into the world with a specific purpose. Jesus means in the Hebrew Jeshua which is a shortened form of Jehoshua, which means Jehovah is salvation.

Jesus Christ is God

The scriptures tell us that Jesus Christ is God.   If you don’t believe that then you are not saved.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, BELIEVED ON in the world, RECEIVED UP into glory.1 Timothy 3:16

You must believe that Jesus is God as the Bible tells us and trust him to save you instead of the law.

For by GRACE ( God’s undeserved, unmerited, favour and mercy) are ye saved through Faith; (trust in reliance on) and that NOT OF YOURSELVES : (no by your own ability) it is the GIFT ( free bestowal ) of God: Not of works, (no good deeds or good behavior) lest any man should boast. (no bragging about how deserving you are) Ephesians 2:8-9

If by grace, then it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it [the election to salvation by God] be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work Romans 11:6

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus BEFORE the world began. II Timothy 1:9.

THE LAW CANNOT SAVE YOU! Jesus Christ superseded the law.

Galatians 3: 19-25

Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.  Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.  But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.  Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.  But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. (THE LAW!!!)

Those who belong to Jesus Christ are now heirs of salvation.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Galatians 3:26-29
