BELIEVE WITH THE HEART

graceSalvation-is-from-the-LORD-300x174

According to the bible, the unsaved person is dead in trespasses and sins. The unsaved person cannot understand spiritual things because the unsaved person is not spiritual, (born again), but rather is carnal, (in the unregenerate sinful nature), SOLD UNDER SIN.

The bible also says that the unsaved person has the devil’s nature and in fact belongs to the devil or is the devil’s seed. “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.” John 8:44

The one who believes in Jesus Christ is adopted by God as his child when becoming “born again” Translated being,(To change from one form, function, or state to another, convert or transform) and are set free from the power of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of his dear Son.

To be saved from sin means to be translated, changed, born again, having a new heart. So when the bible says to believe with the heart and you will be saved, what that verse is saying is; one must believe with the spirit that is now born again. It does not mean to have an intellectual (physical mind/body) assent to the gospel. Scripture tells us that even the devils believe the gospel. They believe that Jesus died for the sins of his elect and that he rose from the dead. That kind of belief does not save!

Satan’s seed many times believe with the head the salvation message but are not really born of the Holy Spirit. Judas believed with the head. He walked with Jesus, saw all the miracles BUT he did not have divine revelation of Jesus in the same way that Peter did. Jesus was amazed that Peter knew who he was? Why? Because he knew that no one could really believe that Jesu was the Son of God unless the Father revealed who Jesus was.

Under the law, the Spirit would come upon a person and reveal himself. That is how God had relationship with the prophets. However, those were temporary incidences. This is the experience Peter had because until Jesus rose from the dead and sprinkled his blood on the mercy seat and sent the Holy Spirit to make people born again, God’s elect were circumcised in the flesh under the law. Under the New Testament to become one of Gods elect one must be circumcised by the Spirit in the heart. (spirit of man)

Another example of a person who believed with the head but not the heart is Simon the sorcerer. Simon believed but Peter told him that his heart (spirit) was not right before God. What was Peter saying? That Simon was not really saved. He was not born again. He “believed” with his intellect but he did not believe with the heart unto salvation.

“But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Then SIMON HIMSELF BELIEVED ALSO AND WHEN HE WAS BAPTIZED, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: FOR THEY HEART IS NOT RIGHT IN THE SIGHT OF GOD. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the LORD for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.” (Acts, 8:9-24).

Now let’s take a look at those who believed with the heart in the New Testament. Both Cornelius and Lydia were seeking the Lord What did they each have in common? First of all they were seeking the Lord for his direction. Not their own purposes like Simon and the cults do, wanting to have God’s power for selfish motivation (usually power, money, and the praises of men, or to be justified by their own self righteousness) but because the Lord was revealing himself to them, drawing them by his Holy Spirit.

In the book of Romans Paul says that the unsaved do not seek after God. They do not want him and nor is he in their thoughts but those the Father is drawing are true seekers.

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is NONE THAT SEEKETH AFTER GOD. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Romans 3:10, 11

“He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” Heb 11:6

God was drawing Cornelius and Lydia to Himself. He sent someone to bring the Gospel to them and He opened their understanding so that they could believe the Gospel and be saved. In Romans chapter 10, Paul says that “Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth”. No longer are God’s elect under the law because the new covenant of grace is now here which has been provided for by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Under the new covenant one must be circumcised in the heart in order to put off the flesh rather than the physical act of circumcision under the law. When one is born again he is given a new nature, God’s nature is planted as a seed in him and grows daily to the perfect sature of Christ.

So we see that both Cornelius and Lydia were seeking the Lord and then the Lord send someone to preach the word of faith to them and then when they heard the word, they believed unto salvation and became born again into God’s kingdom. To believe with the heart means to receive the engrafted word into the spirit which was dead because of sin and to be born of God by being translated into a new creature. God must give the spirit life by his Spirit and then being risen from the dead the person can believe.

The preaching of the word is what produces that faith. Not preaching of man’s opinions but preaching scripture. However, remember that the word must be preached to opened hearts as Jesus said in his parable of the sower. The heart must be drawn and prepared by the Holy Spirit whose job is to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Then when the word is sown into a prepared heart faith comes and that person believes unto salvation. Much prayer is needed in the heart preparation but I will save that for another sermon.

Romans 10:6-18 The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELEIVE IN THINE HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For WITH THE HEART MAN BELIEVETH unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So FAITH COMES BY HEARING,(the ability to hear) and hearing(the ability to hear) by the word of God. But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
To believe with the heart Kardia in the Greek means to be born again in the spirit. When we are born again, the Holy Spirit comes to live in our spirits and then we are no longer in the flesh (carnal) but are spiritual, (in the spirit because we are joined to Gods Spirit) That is why Jesus said that “you must be born again to enter into Gods kingdom. “

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
1 Peter 1:23, Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

There are many who believe with the head the gospel message and the scriptures call these people false brethren or Apostates. They mimic real Christians, but when you examine their fruit closely you will see that they are fakes. The fruit is corrupt, they preach a different gospel trying to bring others into bondage of the law because they are under law, having not the spirit of God in their Spirit, Ephesisan 2 AND Colossians2 tells us that we must be made alive by the operation of God in order to be really saved and not an Apostate. Believe with the heart(spirit) unto salvation.

“And you hath he quickened, ( MADE ALIVE UNTO GOD) who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were BY NATURE THE CHILDREN OF WRATH, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath QUICKENED US TOGETHER IN CHRIST, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship,CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS UNTO GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Colossians 2:18-15
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are RISEN WITH HIM THROUGH THE FAITH OF THE OPERATION OF GOD, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

My ministry gifts are Prophetic Evangelism and Teaching (apologetics and end times revelation in particular). My motivational gifts are Intercession, prophecy, administration. I am a bond servant of Jesus Christ and am called by him to preach the gospel of grace through faith in Jesus Christ apart from the deeds of the law. My Statement of Faith I believe that Jesus is God's son and is himself God, the third person of the Godhead, (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) I believe the bible says YOU MUST be born again by the Holy Spirit to enter into the kingdom of God. I believe Jesus died for the sins of all that have been called out of darkness into his glorious light. Heaven is for the redeemed and hell is for reprobates. The death of Jesus Christ is the substitutionary atonement. “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Jesus sent the holy Spirit to comfort, teach, build up, edify, consecrate, and seal God’s people until his return. Jesus will return to the earth to rule and reign for 1000 years on the earth. I believe we are in the end times and anti christ will soon be revealed. I also believe that we are living in the last days of the great apostasy and falling away from the truth of God's word but God has a remnant,( his elect, chosen before the foundation of the world,) that have not bowed the knee to Baal. These sheep will soon face great persecution that God will allow to take place before the return of Christ. This persecution which will be worldwide will be what separates the true Christian from the false apostate. Those who love not their lives to the end will be shown to be the true church of Jesus Christ but the compromisers of the integrity of God’s word, who choose the spirit of error, worldly doctrines of men, the works of the flesh and the works of the law will be shown to be apostates like Judas and will die in their sins. No one can come to Jesus unless the Father gives him the ability to do so. No one will seek after Jesus unless he is drawn by the Father according to scripture but all whom God calls by his Holy Spirit will come to Jesus and be saved from their sins and be given eternal life for he who has promised is faithful to perfom his promise. The Lord is calling his church to come out of Babylon : Come out of false new age teaching, Come out of legalistic adherance to OT laws to save you, Come out of false signs and wonders that have no scriptural basis, Come out of witchcraft and the doctrines of demons, Come out of humanism and the promotion of man by self help principles and RETURN TO THE PURE UNADULTERATED WORD OF GOD ! “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. Revelation 18:4 Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 1. .Hi again Kim, there is lots of meat in your messages and Truth Salvation is a free Gift of Grace we can’t earn it, but we will show we have it. 1John3:1- 12 (9 ) and many other Scriptures.

God knows us before we are conceived and that we will come to heart repentance and so He chooses us to be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ and yes as you shared The Holy Spirit working in our lives draws us to Him but it is still our choice, God will let us go our own way if we choose to disobey, He doesn’t want puppets, which means we will reap what we sow until we come to our senses, no discipline is pleasant and time out is no fun. As His heart Children, God will still protect our soul no matter what Satan or the world throws at us, He will also rescue us if needed but those who reject Him in their heart, there is no hope for because they are rejecting the only one who can save them and this shows they were never His.

Yes we do keep the Law (see below) but not in our flesh and it does not save us as you shared, our flesh must be put to death by the empowering of The Spirit. I was involved with a Cult but did not realise it was one until the man leading said that if you smoke you will loose your Salvation, he had twisted Sinless perfection to suite his own agenda but just as sad is when people say we will sin till we die but are forgiven so it doesn’t matter, this is not confirmed in Scripture the opposite is True.

Romans 3:30-31 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do we then make void the Law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the Law.

1John 3:4- 7 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that He appeared so that He might take away our sins. And in Him is no sin. No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as He is righteous.

1 John 2:4-6 He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the Love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

    1. I think if you read my blogs you will understand that the notion of “free will” is a secular humanist notion and not biblical. If Satan blinds the understanding and by nature we are children of wrath, where is your free will? Free will is a Platonic term for man choosing without any outside interference. Have you read any humanism? You will see free will is a central theme. Click on my “free will” link for more explanation. No one is free in the carnal nature. No one is free in the new nature for we are now slaves of righteousness…:)

  2. Sorry Kim I only reason using God’s Truth not secular understanding and we will recognize His Truth unless we have rejected Jesus in our heart or are walking in sin.

You seem to have a problem with being set free to choose to do God’s will. The problem with your reasoning is you are saying indirectly that God is not just, He gives us no choice, yes if God wanted to He could make us submit whether we want to or not but like Adam and Eve He gives us the freedom to choose to obey Him or not and this was the same as Satan and the fallen Angles, He does not want puppets just as we would not want some one to have to Love us because they have no choice and nor does God, He wants us to willingly choose Him, and obey Him because we Love Him.

Jesus had the same choice but He became obedient unto death, He could have chosen not to die for us but He said not my will but yours Father because He knew there was no other way for us to be redeemed even though His heart was broken to be separated from God’s Father because of our sin and He knew He would be in the garden.

As for free will being a secular idea, all mankind has the choice whether to choose Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour or to continue to run their own race but they will be without excuse, because in Creation we can see God is a reality but He knows who will choose Him and has from Eternity and draws us to Him by The Holy Spirit working in our lives until we come to heart repentance and then we are indwelt by Him. He also knows that if we reject His guidelines we will be suffer by our own hand until we come to our senses, they are our safeguard so Satan cannot get a foothold. Those who walk in sin are deaf to God’s Truth, it is foolishness to them , good and evil cannot co- exist, they are natural or worldly and without the Spirit and so will reject the Scriptures that don’t gel with their own agenda.

Did you read in context Kim, where it tells us we are slaves of righteousness or servants, when we choose in our hearts to obey God it is by our own free will we are not forced to but He empowers us so we can. Jesus knows our heart focus and so chooses us and we are ordained to do God’s good work after being, purified, equipped and empowered too by The Spirit.

John 15:14-16 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, He may give it you

Romans 6:17-19 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

John 8:34-36 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever but the Son abideth ever.

Have a good day – Christian Love from both of us – Anne.

    1. Your doctrine is opinion and cannot be substantiated by scriptures. Most of the Reformers including Martin Luther believed in election. So did Charles Spurgeon, Augustine, George Whitfeild, John Bunyan, and many others. The doctrine brought in by Wesley and Finney is nothing more than a revival of Pelegialism. Finney’s doctrine is work based and Wesley added his own doctrine not found in scriptures called Prevenient Grace.

Here is an article I did exposing the doctrine of Christian humanism. With scriptures to back it up. where is your scriptural refrences, not taken out of context, I mean ? Did you even bother to read my posts? They are backed up by the bible and history.

The Arminian doctrine of “Prevenient Grace.” Taught by some Christian denominations is defined by John Wesley as “Human beings are totally incapable of responding to God without God first empowering them to have faith. This empowerment is known as “Prevenient Grace.” Prevenient Grace doesn’t save us but, rather, comes before anything that we do, drawing us to God, making us WANT to come to God, and enabling us to have faith in God. Prevenient Grace is Universal, in as much as all humans receive it, regardless of their having heard of Jesus. It is manifested in the deep-seated desire of most humans to know God.”

What is the difference between that and the scriptural doctrine of SOVEREIGN grace? I will show you. This doctrine is not an effectual grace or in other words is a grace that is presented to a person but not bestowed as a free gift to the person. That type of grace is dependent on man’s choice or man’s initiative; therefore I make my argument that it is not the same grace as the bible teaches.

According to scriptures a person makes a decision based on the condition of his heart.

“A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.” Matthew 7:18

If as the bible says, man’s heart is desperately wicked, has no good, (Jeremiah 17:9) how then can he choose anything good? How can a desperately sinful heart desire after God ?

Scriptures tell us that the sinful heart cannot submit to God’s laws, not “will not submit” but rather CANNOT submit.

“Sin is still hostile to God and cannot submit to His law” Rom. 8:7

It is only after the heart is filled with faith which comes from hearing God’s word can a person receive Jesus Christ. The blind man cannot see unless his eyes are opened and scriptures tell us that “the god of this world has blinded people’s eyes (their understanding)

“ In whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2 Corinthians 4:4

Scripture tell us why some people do not believe the gospel. “You do not believe because you are not my sheep” John 10

“Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.” John 8:47

      compliled by Kim Balogh

The bible tells us that it is the condition of one’s heart which is the determining factor in receiving Jesus Christ as Savior. When one is given a new heart then he/she can receive the things of God but not until then. “And I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments and do them ” Ezek. 36:26-27

The regenerated person becomes then a NEW CREATION.

So that if anyone [is] in Christ, [he] is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new 2Co. 5:17

The old things, include the old heart, and this is removed by God. The Holy Spirit makes a person anew! (born again)

The doctrine of “prevenient grace” would make a person partly regenerate but man’s will (or nature) does the rest or completes it. This doctrine is not scriptural.

What do scriptures really teach? Scriptures teach that Man’s heart is totally depraved (corrupt) and cannot come to God by choice because of the fallen nature which is in opposition to God and all that is God. Man is blind in his dark heart (understanding and nature) and therefore a man must be given a new heart by God because he cannot save himself nor does he want to be saved.

“And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were BY NATURE children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.” Ephesians 2:1-3

The bible clearly teaches that the Father has set apart certain persons for Himself while excluding others who were not “given” to Him.

John 17: 9 , “I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.”

“And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.” Acts 13:48

“But ye believe not, BECAUSE ye are not of My sheep” John 10:26

“Therefore THEY COULD NOT BELIEVE because He hath blinded their eyes and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted…” See John 12:37-40

“According as HE HATH CHOSEN us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.” Ephesians 1:4-5

“But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning CHOSEN you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14

In a coming day the Lord Jesus Christ will say to many false professors of the true faith: “I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:23

“I am the good shepherd, and KNOW My sheep, and am KNOWN of mine. As the Father KNOWETH Me, even so KNOW I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep…My sheep hear My voice, and I KNOW them, and they follow Me.” John 10:14, 15, 27

      1. I’m sorry Kim, as I shared before I do not argue or reason with man’s fleshy understanding, reasoning and Logic, without The Holy Spirits empowering having asked for and received God’s wisdom and being taught by Jesus our only Teacher we will be in error, which some of our past Theologians were and so are some today too, as are some Translators of the Scriptures, this is why we need to know God’s Truth and He will show us when there is man’s error or deception. 1Corinthians 2: 2-3 & 9-16

1John 2:26-28 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is Truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.

Colossians 2 :2 -3 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in Love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

1John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is True, and we are in Him that is True, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the True God, and eternal life.

John 15:14-15 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.(KJV)

Matthew 10:26-28 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops (KJV)

Psalm 32:8I will instruct you and teach you in the way you shall go. I will guide you with Mine eye.

      2. I don’t have “fleshly understanding” but what I do have is sound scriptural and historical doctrine, what you have on the other hand is the false Americanized humanist gospel. No where in the bible does it say one has free will. Free will is a humanistic term that states…”one is free to chose without divine or material interference”. Now of course you would not know that because you are ignorant of theology, philosophy and sound doctrine.

What man has is volition BUT man can choose only within his slavery. A sinful man can choose the type of sins he wants to do and a saved person can do only what the Holy Spirit allows him to do. Have you read Martin Luther’s “The bondage of the will” ? Probably not.

Anyway, your name implies your arrogant ignorance. You can do nothing without God allowing it and you were born INTO SIN!! What part of the scriptures…”WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.” and ” by nature children of wrath” don’t you get????

Again you take scriptures of context in order to justify your false teaching!

      3. As I said Kim I’m not interested in arguing or reading what you believe is sound doctrine when it is based on your own or others understanding.

If you believe with the heart, you Trust in Jesus, not yourself or others, regardless of their popularity, Titles, position, or wordly Training etc.

      4. Why do you refuse to examine all things and prove whether you are really in the faith as scriptures tell us to ? For many false anointings and false spirits are out there deceiving if it were possible God’s elect. I base my doctrine on Historic Christianity and the bible. I preach to atheists and evolutionists and have books coming out concerning the evolution/creation debate. How can I oppose evolution? Because I know their arguments. I also minister to Muslims, SDA, JW’s and Catholics. I make sure I know their doctrines better than they do. You on the other hand base your beliefs on your opinion rather than examining it with historic Christian reformed doctrine biblically based. Such foolishness may result in you going even deeper into error.

  3. Kim, I think you’re fantastic ! I love you ! What a sterling biblical argument you put up for God’s sovereignty and the lack of our free will because all our hearts are born dark and evil – there is none who does good or seeks after Him. Absolutely !

I believe in God’s sovereignty, I believe in predestination, I believe in the chosen and the elect. You are right it is all in the Bible – who can argue against it except by looking foolish and simple.

I do however think that our minds cannot fully fathom the meaning of it. I think the key word for me is from Romans 8:29, “For whom He foreknew…”

There is something about us that He foreknows which determines the election of predestination and I haven’t got a clue what that is and I am not going to try to fathom it in my mind.

Apart from sin, we are each incredibly valuable, priceless creations made in His image, each precious enough for the Son of God to die for us and within that value somewhere there is something He “foreknows” about us that triggers His pouring of Grace and Holy Spirit upon us to lead us to Him. I have until recently thought it was seeing the heart within a person, but after considering “that there is none that does good”, I lost track of what that “foreknowing” could be about.

In any case, believing in predestination gives me extra confidence in going out there and unashamedly preaching the gospel, knowing that God is sovereign and will draw to Him those who are the called as I speak His Word in Truth ! And I will never use predestination as a negative – an excuse not to preach to certain people – or as a presumption – for it is all by His wonderful Grace and without which we are all thoroughly deserving of eternal torment, unbelievable but only because our minds are so darkened and blinded to the sin that is death within us, except for those whom He foreknew and predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son ! Thank you so much Jesus, I am so so grateful !

Having said all, I would not chose to preach predestination to the unsaved as it can produce a stumbling, a doubt or a pride that is not helpful to the health of the soul and Calvinism went too far and produced much fear and hopelessness within people, even within the elect. Preaching to the unsaved remains to me: “All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved!”, This opens the way for God’s Grace to work in the hearts He has chosen, without creating doubt of potential salvation.

Somehow within it all the elect themselves do have to make the choice, but His Grace is the enabling power to do that: God accounts our believe (which He enables) as righteousness to us. It is all Him and His Grace and His sovereignty, but at the same time He puts the belief into our own account, as “our” decision. As without it being “our” decision, by His amazing Grace, we could not be true friends of God. What an awesome majestic God !

    Thank you Kim !

    1. Thank you Doug for your response and I agree that preaching the gospel is important, for how shall they hear without a preacher? It is God who saves; he gives the increase w2hile all we do is sow and waters the seed. Unfortunately, many preach a false gospel and a false Jesus and it is important to tell them of their error in hopes that God will grant them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth. If not they are sure to end up separated from God for all eternity for they “loved not the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness.” (Includes morality without salvation)

I am very much opposed to the “easy believism” gospel for many end up in hell due to that false doctrine which permeates many churches!

Thanks for your comment and God bless you in your labor in his vineyard, Kim
